The African Union has rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s explosive warning of possible military action in Nigeria, after he accused the government of allowing mass killings of Christians. AU Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf said there is “no genocide” in northern Nigeria and urged Washington to “think twice” before making sweeping claims. Trump had earlier threatened to cut aid and potentially launch strikes, saying he would go “guns-a-blazing” to defend Christians. Nigeria’s government responded, stressing unity and rejecting foreign interference.
